🏫 New Director Onboarding & Training Plan

Duration: 4–6 weeks
Purpose: To equip the new Director with the tools, knowledge, and leadership skills necessary to manage a high-quality early childhood education center aligned with our mission and standards.


 

📅 Week 1: Orientation & Organizational Alignment

Objective: Understand the academy’s vision, structure, and expectations.

  • Welcome and Tour of the School

  • Meet the Leadership Team

  • Review of Mission, Vision, Core Values

  • Introduction to Young Innovators Culture & Philosophy

  • Overview of Organizational Structure & Reporting Lines

  • Review Employee Handbook and Staff Policies

  • Overview of Licensing, Accreditation, and Regulatory Requirements


 

📅 Week 2: Operations & Compliance

Objective: Learn day-to-day operations and compliance procedures.

  • Daily Operations Walkthrough (opening/closing routines)

  • Licensing Requirements (Ratios, Supervision, Safety, Documentation)

  • Review of Health & Safety Protocols

    • Medication Administration

    • Incident/Accident Reporting

    • Emergency Preparedness Plans

  • Tour of Facilities: Playgrounds, Classrooms, Kitchen

  • Introduction to Payroll, Time Tracking, and Scheduling Systems

  • Classroom and Staff Scheduling Process

  • Review of Child Enrollment and Withdrawal Procedures


 

📅 Week 3: Curriculum & Instruction

Objective: Understand educational program expectations and quality standards.

  • Overview of Curriculum Model (Reggio, STEM, Montessori Elements)

  • Digital Curriculum Platform Training

  • Lesson Plan Review Process

  • Classroom Observation Tools (e.g., CLASS, ECERS)

  • Pre-K Assessment Schedule and Expectations

  • Coaching and Support System for Teachers

  • Program Quality Standards (State & Accreditation Benchmarks)


 

📅 Week 4: Family Engagement & Communication

Objective: Build skills for engaging families and managing concerns.

  • Family Communication Guidelines & Tools

  • Managing Parent Concerns & Conflict Resolution

  • Hosting Tours, Events, and Conferences

  • Marketing & Retention Best Practices

  • Social Media & Brand Voice Guidelines

  • Communication Calendar Planning


 

📅 Week 5–6: Leadership & Supervision

Objective: Strengthen leadership, coaching, and team development.

  • Staff Supervision and Evaluation Procedures

  • Class Scoring System & Coaching Cycles

  • Probationary Period Oversight for New Hires

  • Professional Development Planning

  • Performance Management & Disciplinary Protocols

  • Leadership Self-Assessment and Goal Setting
