Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

Title: Ensuring Curriculum Fidelity Using Digital Platform

Department: Curriculum & Instruction
Prepared for: Center Directors, Assistant Directors

Purpose:

To ensure teachers implement the provided digital curriculum with fidelity, align instruction with school goals, and engage children effectively using the tools and resources on the digital platform.


 

Scope:

This SOP applies to all classrooms accessing and implementing lesson plans through the organization’s digital curriculum platform (e.g., proprietary system, app, or online portal).


 

Responsibilities:

  • Director/Assistant Director:

    • Monitor platform usage, lesson implementation, and classroom execution.

    • Provide coaching, feedback, and escalate noncompliance.

  • Lead Teachers:

    • Access weekly lesson plans via the platform.

    • Prepare and implement lessons daily with minor contextual adaptations.

    • Upload documentation (photos, reflections, assessments) to the platform.

  • Curriculum Team (if applicable):

    • Upload and update plans weekly.

    • Provide instructional videos, guides, and activity support via platform.


 

Procedure:

1. Weekly Digital Plan Access

  • Teachers must log in to the platform and review lesson plans by Friday afternoon for the following week.

  • Director verifies digital log-ins weekly through the admin dashboard or activity report.


 

2. Materials & Preparation

  • Teachers check material requirements listed in the weekly plan.

  • Classroom prep is completed before Monday morning.

  • Director confirms readiness during Monday morning walkthroughs.


 

3. Classroom Implementation Monitoring

  • Conduct weekly digital fidelity checks using an Implementation Observation Form.

  • Look for:

    • Alignment between platform plan and classroom activity.

    • Use of platform’s visuals, storybooks, videos, or provocations.

    • Real-time application of lesson structure and objectives.


 

4. Platform Engagement Tracking

  • Use the platform’s backend reports to verify:

    • Lesson plan views

    • Content downloaded or accessed

    • Photos, reflections, and documentation uploads

  • Flag teachers with low or inconsistent usage for follow-up.


 

5. Weekly Documentation Uploads

  • Teachers upload:

    • Photos of learning activities

    • Brief notes on student engagement

    • Optional videos or voice notes (if platform allows)

  • Director reviews and approves uploads each Friday.


 

6. Monthly Coaching & Support

  • Review platform engagement reports and classroom observations.

  • Hold 1:1 coaching sessions with teachers to:

    • Reflect on fidelity and impact

    • Identify challenges with tech use or lesson content

    • Set improvement goals

  • Use a Digital Curriculum Coaching Log to track progress.


 

7. Family Communication

  • Ensure teachers use the family-facing features of the platform to:

    • Share weekly learning themes

    • Send photos and learning updates

    • Offer suggestions for home connection activities
