Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
1. Purpose
To ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for children and families during drop-off and pick-up times, while maintaining consistent communication, supervision, and access control.
2. Scope
This SOP applies to all staff members, administrators, and authorized individuals responsible for child supervision and security during arrival and dismissal at Young Innovators Academies.
3. Responsibilities

Approve or deny access, manage behavioral incidents, enforce discipline and access policy, liaise with local authorities if needed. |
4. Procedures
4.1 Drop-Off Procedure

When: Upon child arrival each morning.

Who: All teaching staff and administrators.

What to Do:

Greet each child and parent warmly by name.
-
Acknowledge both parties and make the child feel welcome.

Ensure the child is accompanied by an adult into the classroom.

Never allow children to walk to the classroom alone.
-
If a concern arises about the individual dropping off, call the front desk immediately.

Log any attendance or unusual notes in the YI App as needed.

4.2 Pick-Up Procedure

When: At designated dismissal times.

Who: Teachers and administrative team.

What to Do:

Greet the parent/guardian and ensure they are on the authorized pick-up list.

Never release a child to an unauthorized individual.

Only provide positive feedback at pick-up time; any concerns should be directed privately to the Director.

Complete and confirm the daily report has been submitted through the YI App.

5. Access Policy

Visitors or unknown individuals must be immediately approached and asked about their purpose.

Only authorized parents, guardians, or staff may access child areas.
-
All visitors must be supervised at all times.
-
If uncertain, contact the Director or Assistant Director immediately.

Unauthorized individuals on-site may result in lockdown procedures being activated.
6. Child Supervision

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Never allow a child to walk or leave the classroom alone.
-
If observed, notify the Director immediately.
