Children with Allergies & Accommodations

To ensure the health and safety of children with medical needs:

• Any child with known allergies or required accommodations must have their:

  • Name

  • Photograph

  • Allergy or special accommodation information

• clearly posted in a visible area of the classroom, accessible to all staff members.

Daily Health Inspection Procedures

Opening Management Sweep

• Each morning, opening management will conduct a full walk-through of the school to ensure:

  • All classrooms are clean and prepared

  • Health and safety standards are met prior to student arrival

Child Health Check-In

• Upon arrival, each teacher must perform a “15-second health check” on each child as they enter the classroom.

  • Look for signs of illness, discomfort, or visible marks

  • If a new mark or symptom is observed:

    • Ask the adult dropping off the child for an explanation

    • Document the observation and explanation per incident reporting protocol

Ongoing Health Checks

• Staff must conduct periodic visual health checks throughout the day, especially:

  • During diaper changes

  • When a child appears unwell

Sanitization Procedures

• Infant through two-year-old classrooms must follow strict toy sanitization guidelines:

  • Any toy that is mouthed or dropped must be placed in designated ABC bins for sanitization

• Staff should ensure toys are sanitized regularly and appropriately

Playground Safety Sweep

• Before outdoor play each morning, classroom staff must:

  • Perform a visual sweep of the playground

  • Check for hazards, unsafe objects, or debris

Closing Management Sweep

• At the end of each day, closing management must:

  • Conduct a full building check

  • Ensure all classrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces are clean, safe, and secured
