Department: Classroom Operations
Effective Date: [Insert Date]
Approved By: [Director’s Name]

🎯 Purpose

To provide a structured approach for teachers to complete non-instructional tasks—including cleaning, organization, and lesson planning—during nap time while maintaining safe supervision and a calm environment for children.

📌 Scope

Applies to all classroom staff involved in daily operations, lesson preparation, and classroom maintenance.

🛠️ Procedures

1. Ensure Active Supervision

  • One staff member must be stationed for direct supervision of sleeping children at all times.

  • Supervision includes checking on sleeping children regularly (every 10–15 minutes).

  • Maintain a calm tone and dim lighting; use soft movement and whispers only.

  • Never leave the room unattended.

2. Divide Tasks Strategically

  • Use a “Nap Time Task Board” to assign and rotate duties such as:

    • Cleaning & disinfecting

    • Supply restocking

    • Activity/lesson planning

    • Portfolio or documentation updates
