BUS DRIVER

RESPONSIBLE TO

Director / Assistant Director / Owner

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To safely provide transportation for the children to provide proper maintenance of the bus.

REQUIREMENTS:

Be at least twenty-one years of age.

Hold a current Florida CDL Class B license.

Have and maintain an excellent driving record.

Have at least one year driving experience with a school bus or equivalent vehicle

Dependability and promptness

Likeness for children

Current physical

Satisfactory background screenings

DCF mandatory Transportations Class

Physical taken within last two years.

Maintain current CPR and First Aid

Maintain blood borne pathogen and fire extinguisher.

Maintain child abuse and neglect.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure safe transportation for children.

Focus on driving and avoid unnecessary conversation.

Always maintain discipline on the bus.

Run routes as written.

Do not allow unauthorized children or adults on the bus.

Check to see that all children are off the bus.

Check to see that all children are wearing seat belts.

Maintain daily bus maintenance logs and attendance.

Keep the bus clean inside and out.

Notify owner/director of any safety or maintenance concerns.

Maintain confidentiality.

Communicate positively with children and parents.

Drive for all field trips

Attending training and staff meetings when requested to do so.

All other duties that will be mutually agreed upon by owner / director.
