Electronic Media & Social Media Conduct Policy
1. Purpose
The purpose of this SOP is to establish clear expectations for professional conduct related to electronic and social media use. Your School is committed to protecting its reputation, mission, and relationships with children, families, staff, and partners. Employees are expected to act professionally at all timesâboth on and off dutyâwhen using electronic media.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all employees, administrators, directors, substitutes, contractors, interns, and volunteers of Your School.
It applies to all forms of electronic communication, including but not limited to websites, social networking platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X), blogs, forums, chat rooms, messaging apps, and any other online or digital media (collectively referred to as âElectronic Mediaâ).
3. Policy Statement
All employees must conduct themselves in a respectful, professional, and responsible manner when using Electronic Media. Any conduct or communication that could negatively impact the reputation, mission, or relationships of Your School is strictly prohibited.
4. Prohibited Conduct
Employees are prohibited from the following actions on or through Electronic Media:

Posting, sharing, or distributing disparaging, false, misleading, or derogatory comments or content about:

Your School

Employees, Directors, Owners

Children or families
-
Vendors, partners, or affiliates
(whether by name, image, implication, or inference)

Creating or sharing content that suggests Your School has authorized, endorsed, or approved the communication unless explicit written authorization has been granted.

Posting content that violates any organizational policy, including but not limited to:

Equal Employment Opportunity

Anti-Harassment

Confidentiality

Workplace Violence

Code of Conduct

Sharing confidential or non-public information, including but not limited to:

Student or family information

Personnel information

Trade secrets or proprietary materials

Internal communications or business data

Requesting, adding, accepting, or interacting with children, parents, or family members of enrolled students on personal social media accounts.
5. Personal Opinion Disclaimer Requirement
Any communication referencing Your School must clearly indicate that the views expressed are personal opinions and not those of the organization. Content must not imply representation, authority, or endorsement by Your School.
6. Reporting Requirements
Employees who become aware of any Electronic Media content that may violate this policy must immediately report the matter to the Center Director. Failure to report known violations may result in disciplinary action.
7. Enforcement and Discipline
Violations of this SOP may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment, in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
8. Technology and Policy Flexibility
Due to the rapidly evolving nature of technology and social media platforms, this policy cannot address every possible scenario. Employees are expected to apply sound judgment and adhere to the spirit and intent of this policy at all times.
9. Legal Compliance
Nothing in this policy is intended to restrict or prohibit conduct protected under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) or any other applicable federal or state law.
