Children with Allergies and Accommodations
Purpose
To ensure the health and safety of children with allergies or special accommodations by maintaining clear visibility, staff awareness, and consistent adherence to documented care requirements.
Scope
This SOP applies to all teachers, assistants, substitutes, and staff responsible for the supervision and care of children.
Procedure

Any child with a documented allergy or required accommodation must have theirĀ name and photograph posted in a clearly visible area of the classroom.

Allergy and accommodation postings must be placed where all staff can easily see them and reference them during daily routines, meals, activities, and emergency situations.

All teachers are responsible for ensuring allergy posters are accurate, current, and visible at all times.

Updates to allergy or accommodation information must be implemented immediately upon notification from administration or receipt of updated documentation.

Staff must follow all individualized care plans and accommodation instructions as documented.
Compliance
Failure to adhere to this SOP may result in corrective action, as adherence is critical to child safety and regulatory compliance.
Documentation
All allergy and accommodation information must be supported by appropriate documentation and maintained in the childās file in accordance with school policy.
