1. Purpose
The purpose of this SOP is to protect the integrity, professionalism, and reputation of our school by establishing clear expectations for how employees communicate about the organization, its people, and its programs. Professional communication supports a positive workplace culture and maintains trust with families, staff, and the community.
2. Scope
This SOP applies to all employees, administrators, substitutes, interns, volunteers, and contractors of our school. It applies to all forms of communication, including but not limited to:

3. Policy Statement
All staff members are expected to represent our school in a professional, respectful, and ethical manner at all times. Non-disparagement is a condition of employment and an essential component of maintaining a safe, collaborative, and trustworthy school environment.
4. Step-by-Step Expectations
Step 1: Represent Our School Professionally
Employees must uphold the reputation, values, and professionalism of our school when speaking about the organization in any context that could impact the school community.
Step 2: Communicate Responsibly
Employees must ensure that any statements made about the school are accurate, appropriate, and professional.
Step 3: Prohibited Conduct
Employees may not make false, misleading, or disparaging statements about:

Staff members

Children or families

Programs, policies, or services
This includes verbal comments, written statements, electronic communication, and social media activity.
Step 4: Use Internal Channels for Concerns
Workplace concerns, complaints, or disagreements must be addressed through appropriate internal channels (Director, Administration, HR/Owner, or designated reporting process) to allow for review and resolution.
Step 5: Maintain Confidentiality and Respect
Employees must not share internal matters, personnel issues, or family-related concerns with individuals who are not directly involved in the resolution process.
Step 6: Communicate Factually and Professionally
When raising concerns internally, employees must rely on facts and direct observations, not assumptions, rumors, or personal opinions.
Step 7: Understand Protected Rights
Nothing in this SOP is intended to restrict or interfere with employee rights protected under applicable federal, state, or local labor laws.
5. Accountability and Enforcement
Failure to comply with this SOP may result in corrective action, up to and including disciplinary action or termination of employment, in accordance with school policy and applicable labor laws.
6. Review and Acknowledgment
All employees are required to review and acknowledge this SOP as part of onboarding and whenever updates are issued. Ongoing compliance is expected as a condition of employment
