JOB DESCRIPTION:
To provide and maintain the kitchen area in a hygienic, safe, and presentable condition. Be responsible for the preparation of all food and nutrition aspects for the center. All work will be conducted following the state guidelines. Keep a strict inventory of all food and paper products that pertain to the kitchen.
REQUIREMENTS:
Be at least eighteen years of age.
Have at least a high school diploma.
Provide all medical records, abuse clearance, criminal records check, fingerprints, diploma, and any other forms that are required by the state.

Must be able to lift fifty pounds, sit on the floor and interact with children.
Evidence of emotional maturity and stability which demonstrates the ability to show good judgment in handling crisis situations.
Must be an experienced cook and possess a knowledge of basic principles of
good nutrition.
Maintain a food managerās certificate.
Have high standards of cleanliness.
Maintain CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens and Fire Extinguisher
Maintain Child Abuse and Neglect.
Maintain TB test or note of good health.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To prepare hot & cold, ensuring the food safety standards are met in accordance with the regulations.
Prepare weekly order form for new supplies.
Prepare and serve food in accordance with the weekly menus.
To take delivery and store food supplies,
To always wear a hairnet and gloves while preparing food
Provides assistance to teachers for food and cooking experiences they may wish.
Maintain the stock rotation of all food to plan for the classrooms.
Prepare and serve refreshments for parent nights, staff meetings.
Be aware of children with allergies.
Clean and sanitize all appliances, equipment, utensils, storerooms, and floors daily.
Deliver water jugs daily to the classrooms and clean water jugs daily.
Make and deliver Bleach and Water solution spray bottle daily, and Soap and Water solution spray bottles weekly for each classroom.
Prepare bagged lunches for any scheduled field trips.
Deliver food to classrooms.
Collect dirty dishes from classroom.
Load the bus with packed lunches and water for field trips.
To keep abreast of new legislation.
To keep up to date with the food managerās certificate.
To record the temperatures of the fridge and freezer.
To clean and mop the kitchen and cafeteria (including walls, baseboards, windows, chairs, tables, sinks).
Any other duties required by the Director.
Adhere to all policies and procedures of the center.
