🎯 Objective

To maintain high levels of employee performance through clear expectations, supportive supervision, fair evaluation, and recognition of excellence.


 

📅 Performance Evaluation Schedule

Timing

Description

90-Day Evaluation

Conducted at the end of the probationary period. Reviews alignment with values, professionalism, and readiness for long-term role.

Annual Review

Comprehensive performance appraisal conducted once per year for all employees.


 

📊 Performance Metrics

Performance will be assessed based on the following key areas:

  • Classroom Quality – learning environment, instructional planning, child engagement

  • Attendance & Punctuality – consistency, timeliness, schedule adherence

  • Team Engagement – collaboration, communication, responsiveness

  • Professional Conduct – adherence to policies, positive representation of the school


 

⚠️ Disciplinary Procedure

A progressive discipline model will be used when employee performance or conduct does not meet expectations:

  1. Step 1: Verbal Warning

    • Informal discussion to address issue and provide clarity

    • Documented by supervisor for internal reference

  2. Step 2: Written Warning

    • Formal notice with written summary of concern(s)

    • Includes expectations for change and timeline

  3. Step 3: Performance Improvement Plan (PIP)

    • Targeted plan with measurable goals, action steps, and ongoing check-ins

    • Usually set for a 30-day to 60-day period

  4. Step 4: Termination (If No Improvement)

    • If performance does not improve as outlined in the PIP, employment may be terminated

Immediate termination may occur for severe violations including child safety breaches, dishonesty, or harassment.


 

🌟 Recognition & Celebration

To promote a culture of excellence and appreciation:

  • Annual Awards are presented during staff appreciation month (e.g., Teacher of the Year, Team Spirit Award, Innovation in Practice)

  • Spot Recognition can occur at any time for exemplary contributions—this may include gift cards, shout-outs in meetings, or feature in the staff newsletter


 

✍️ Acknowledgment of Performance Policies

All employees are required to sign an acknowledgment form confirming:

  • They have read and understand the Employee Handbook and this Performance Management SOP

  • They agree to comply with all performance expectations, evaluation processes, and disciplinary policies
