CENTER DIRECTOR

RESPONSIBLE TO

Area Managers/ VP of Operations

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To manage and control the day to day running of the school in accordance with the Department of Children & Families regulations; The director is the person responsible to implement curriculum guidelines, corporate standards, adhere to all KPI standards of Amazing Explorers Academy corporate office, accreditation requirements and financial performance of the school. The director is responsible for the financial performance of the school, consumer satisfaction metrics and academic success of the center.

REQUIREMENTS:

Hold at least a two-year degree in education or

CDA with Director’s Credentials with five years directing experience.

Background checks and compliance with DCF Regulation guidelines

Accountability in all aspects of the operation

Provide all requirements that the state licensing agency requires.

Oversee and maintain all training hours required by the state.

Evidence emotional intelligence, and ability which demonstrate the ability to show good judgment in handling crisis situations.

Ability to direct, teach, and encourage staff.

Multitask and able to prioritize.

Demonstrates good people skills in order to work with staff and parents.

Able to sell the center on tours.

Duties, Responsibilities and Deliverables

Human Resources

Recruitment of the school

Day to day operations of the center

Training new staff members in a blended learning environment LMS platform and classroom experience.

Supervise staff members, quality control metrics of the program.

Coach employees to improve performance (Monthly)

Develop career plans and talent incubator (Quarterly)

Promote a culture of innovation, empowerment, and accountability though innovation awards (Monthly)

Create a superior company culture for employees by establishing strategic programs that promote a culture of excellence within staff members. (“Kindness tree”, “Excellence on the spot awards”, “Promotions” “Birthdays”, “Wellness Programs” and so on.

The director motivates employees though different tactical action plans.

Organize staff schedules and contingent plans.

Record incidents, coaching, performance reviews and firing

Develop in service training programs for staff members based on their career plans.

Update professional development programs and end of year rubric evaluations for each employee with yearly reviews.

Each year the director and teacher will establish an annual goal-setting process to ensure continuous improvement (Yearly)

Make classroom observations and regular visits to the school (Weekly)

Coordinate staff meetings (Monthly)

Authorize vacation times.

Participates in community events and professional associations.

Creates a newsletter for staff members with information about career promotions, teaching strategies and suggestions.

Updates teacher boards in the staff room.

Reconcile payroll hours/ Timecards.

Monitors mentorship program in the school “Teachers Empowering Teachers”

DELIVERABLES TO AREA MANAGER/ CHIEF LEARNING OFFICER:

Employee File Must Include:

Required DCF employee documents.

Career plan for employees template. (Yearly)

Coaching forms for employees (Monthly)

LMS platform module certificates

Classroom observation forms (Monthly)

Conduct staff satisfaction evaluations every year.

Incident reports

Sets yearly goals and expectations for the teacher (Signed by the teacher and director)

Keep a portfolio of each classroom with the following information:

Documentation of Innovation Advantage, PBL, STEM projects, Innovation Lab, Atelier projects and events.

Summary of Children’s assessment reports and individual lesson plan (Monthly)

Evidence of classroom observations per age group

CURRICULUM IMPLEMENTATION:

Meets on a yearly basis to review program philosophy and yearly goals.

Yearly goals are signed by the lead teacher and director.

Enhances instructional effectiveness that promotes student learning (Monthly)

Conducts interim assessments and monitors student performance and prepares individual plans for students (Monthly).

Director will review evidence of Student Learning, analyze and review evidence of student work including projects, presentations, and performances; assessment results; teacher observation records and checklists.

Meet staff members on a monthly basis to discuss curriculum implementation guidelines and projects.

Assure the correct implementation of the curriculum, framework, and guidelines.

Assure that teachers are following schedules, lesson plans and products. (Monthly)

Conduct classroom observations (weekly). The observation data collected will provide the basis for

learning-focused dialogue, feedback, and reflection.

Develops mentoring program.

Participate in monthly curriculum planning meetings and sessions.

Develops teaching strategies by analyzing videotaped instructions, analysis of student learning, peer observations.

Identifies domains in which teachers need additional coaching.

COMPLIANCE WITH DCF REGULATIONS

DELIVERABLES:

Conduct new parent orientation.

Complete a personal information interview with parent prior to the child’s first day of attendance.

Interact daily with parents. Give brief verbal reports and written notices when necessary.

Hold two scheduled parent conferences per year with each Family and Document each conference.

Submit conference documentation to the director.

Establish a cooperative relationship with parents of children in the assigned group.

Prepare ages and stages reports on children whose parents have given permission on.

Maintain classroom parent information board.

SALES & MARKETING

DELIVERABLES:

Follows the guidelines of the branding manual for social media.

Enter visitors in the enrollment systems established by the marketing.

Gives tours to prospective parents following the guidelines of the

marketing department (Pending)

Responsible for contacting leads and visitors

Develop a strategic marketing plan for the center that includes events.

Updates enrollment platform forms with children’s information for the marketing

department to analyze.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

Builds relationships with the parents.

Updates social media following the guidelines of the marketing department. (Pending)

Demonstrates cultural sensitivity in communications and works with families and children.

Demonstrates an awareness of community resources for additional support of children and families.

Sends parents a monthly newsletter with information about the curriculum, events and information.

Meets with the parents to discuss situations and develop improvement plans.

Develops parent education series to support parents.

FINANCE:

The financial performance of the unit includes understanding of tuition goals and payroll percentages in the school.

Post weekly tuition charges.

Responsible for collecting payments.

FACILITY MAINTENANCE:

Maintain facility maintenance schedules.
