SECTION 1: CODE OF CONDUCT & ETHICS

1.0 Purpose

To define the expected ethical standards and behavioral conduct for all employees, ensuring a professional, respectful, and legally compliant working environment at Young Innovators Academies.

2.0 Scope

This SOP applies to all employees, volunteers, and interns operating at or representing any Young Innovators Academies location or function.

3.0 Responsible Parties

  • All Employees: Uphold ethical behavior and conduct expectations.

  • Directors/Managers: Monitor, coach, and address misconduct.

  • HR Department: Manage documentation, investigations, and training related to conduct issues.

4.0 Procedures

4.1 General Conduct Expectations
  • Act professionally and respectfully with colleagues, children, and families.

  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and represent the brand honorably.

  • Arrive on time, attend scheduled shifts, meetings, and trainings.

4.2 Prohibited Behaviors
  • Theft or property damage

  • Falsification of records

  • Working under influence of substances

  • Harassment, verbal abuse, or physical intimidation

  • Sharing confidential information

  • Profanity or inappropriate language

  • Discussing salaries/benefits with peers

  • Consistent failure to meet performance or quality standards

4.3 Ethical Standards
  • Do not exploit relationships with families or vendors for personal gain.

  • Avoid any conflict of interest and report outside employment to the Director.

  • Report all suspected ethical breaches to the Director or Owner immediately.

  • Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and co-workers.

4.4 Reporting Procedure
  1. Employee witnesses or experiences an ethical/conduct concern.

  2. Report it confidentially to the Director or Owner.

  3. Director logs and investigates the issue, consulting HR if necessary.

  4. Disciplinary action may include written warning, suspension, or termination based on severity.

4.5 Harassment & Discrimination
  • All forms of unlawful harassment or discrimination are strictly prohibited.

  • Any employee experiencing or witnessing harassment should immediately report the incident to the Director or Owner.

  • Complaints will be promptly investigated and addressed.
