RESPONSIBLE TO Director
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To assist the director with the overall duties of the center especially with implementation of the curriculum in all classrooms, planning special events, working directly with the staff regarding lesson plans and activities for the children and to assist parents in the afternoon. Ā Also, oversee the afternoon management of the center and secure the center in the evening.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in working with all age children in a pre-school setting.
Hold at least a CDA or higher in early childhood education.
Have at least one year management experience
Director Credentials
Communicate sensitively and effectively with staff and parents.
Be able to work until 6:30 p.m.
Have knowledge of DAP and curriculum
Computer literate
Certified in CPR and First Aid
Certified in fire extinguisher use.
Certified in child abuse with refresher every two years (if employee does not have, must complete within first week of employment)
Certified if Standard Precautions in handling blood fluids and injury fluid discharges with refresher every two year (if employee does not have, must complete within first week of employment)
Upon hire must present a note of good health from a licensed physician, renewing it every two years.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer service
Conduct new parent orientation.
Assist parents parents with internal systems
Setting cubbies in the classroom for new students.
Complete a personal information interview with the parent prior to the childās first day of attendance.
Interact daily with parents. Give brief verbal reports and written notices when necessary.
Hold two scheduled parent conferences per year with each Family and Document each conference.
Submit conference documentation to the director.
Establish a cooperative relationship with parents of children in the assigned group.
Communicate effectively with parents and teachers.
Assist directors with DCF Compliance
Prepare ages and stages reports on children whose parents have given permission on.
Maintain classroom parent information board.

Always comply with the presentation requirements set by the company.
Responsible for Picture Roster, emergency bags, sub folders, transportation binders
Classroom observation forms (weekly)
Incident reports
Binder with copies of conferences signup per classroom, conference sheets and Preparing for Conference parent sheet for each child per classroom.
Human resource
Assist director in coordinating hiring interviews
Staff Scheduling and operations
Oversee scheduling of staff
Assist the Director in the supervision of the staff and ensure that they are carrying out their duties.
Responsible for scheduling and creating camps for school.
Scheduling and paying for field trips.
Responsible for all staff training within work hours
Assist in the monthly purchasing of supplies.
Maintaining an organized office and school environments
Provide curriculum assistance to all the teachers..
Assist with monthly staff meetings and training.
Monthly supply order
Facility maintenance
Oversee the cleaning of the building at night.
Securing the building at night
Manage staff in the afternoon to maintain proper ratios.
Professional development
Participates in community events and professional associations.
Marketing
Confirm tours for the director
Provide tours of the center to prospective parents and children
Be responsible for communication with parents via ProCare connect and Facebook for calendar events, highlight awards for the teachers, staff birthdays.
Summer Camps and Afterschool coordinator
Driver for school bus transportation
Responsible for summer camp /school holiday camp and delegate to the lead after school counselorCreate and help maintain STEM Challenge boxes, Rainy Day Boxes, Busy Bags, Environmental Print in classrooms quarterly.
Meet with Mentor once a month
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Build relationships with the parents.
Updates social media following the guidelines of the marketing department.
Demonstrates cultural sensitivity in communications and works with families and children.
Demonstrates an awareness of community resources for additional support of children and families.
The Assistant Director schedules meetings with the parents to discuss situations and develop improvement plans.
Assistant Director to develop parent education series to support parents.
FACILITY MAINTENANCE:
Report to the Director any facility maintenance needs (lights, broken equipment, etc.)
