Lesson Plan Expectations

Weekly Requirements

1. Lesson Plan Display

  • TheĀ Lead TeacherĀ must post theĀ upcoming week’s lesson planĀ on theĀ Parent Board inside the classroomĀ byĀ Friday before leaving for the weekend.

  • Lesson plans must:

    • Reflect the approved curriculum

    • Be clearly written and accurate

    • Be engaging and parent-friendly

2. Classroom Board Updates

All classroom boards must be updatedĀ weeklyĀ to reflect:

  • TheĀ current themeĀ and focus of the week

  • Daily activitiesĀ aligned with the lesson plan

  • STEAM focusĀ and enrichment activities

  • Important remindersĀ or parent communications

Boards should be neat, current, and easy for families to understand at a glance.

3. Schedule Adherence

  • Teachers are expected to follow theĀ daily scheduleĀ as outlined in the lesson plan.

  • Any deviations must:

    • Be approved by theĀ Director or Assistant Director

    • Be documented when applicable

Consistent schedule adherence ensures:

  • Developmentally appropriate pacing

  • Predictable routines for children

  • High-quality learning experiences

4. Lesson Plan Turn-In

EveryĀ Friday, the Lead Teacher must:

  1. Remove the completed weekly lesson plan from the Parent Board

  2. Complete theĀ Weekly Evaluation / Modification Form

  3. SubmitĀ both documentsĀ to theĀ Assistant DirectorĀ by the end of the day

Planning Support

Monthly Lesson Plan Distribution

  • Lesson plan templates will be provided by theĀ Assistant DirectorĀ in advance of each new month.

  • Early distribution allows time for thoughtful, intentional planning.

Weekly Planning Time

  • Dedicated planning time is built into each week to allow teachers to:

    • Reflect on classroom observations

    • Adjust activities based on children’s interests and needs

    • Enhance lesson quality while remaining aligned with curriculum expectations
