Curriculum coordinator
RESPONSIBLE TO Director
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To assist the director with the overall duties of the center especially with implementation of the curriculum in all classrooms, planning special events, working directly with the staff regarding lesson plans and activities for the children and to assist parents in the afternoon. Â Also, oversee the afternoon management of the center and secure the center in the evening.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in working with all age children in a pre-school setting.
Hold at least a CDA or higher in early childhood education.
Have at least one year management experience
Director Credentials
Communicate sensitively and effectively with staff and parents.
Be able to work until 6:30 p.m.
Have knowledge of DAP and curriculum
Computer literate
Certified in CPR and First Aid
Certified in fire extinguisher use.
Certified in child abuse with refresher every two years (if employee does not have, must complete within first week of employment)
Certified if Standard Precautions in handling blood fluids and injury fluid discharges with refresher every two year (if employee does not have, must complete within first week of employment)
Upon hire must present a note of good health from a licensed physician, renewing it every two years
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the director.
Always comply with the presentation requirements set by the company.
School Events
Responsible for all events in the school year calendar and making sure that is a wonderful experience and on time.
Assist with monthly staff meetings and training.
Employee onboarding
Responsible for all staff training within work hours
Updates teacher boards in the staff room.
Employee culture
Aide director in promoting a culture of innovation, empowerment, and accountability though innovation awards (Monthly)
Aide in rating a superior company culture to employees by establishing strategic programs that promote a culture of excellence within staff members. (âKindness treeâ, âExcellence on the spot awardsâ, âPromotionsâ âBirthdaysâ, âWellness Programsâ and so on. The director motivates employees though different tactical action plans.)
Curriculum implementation
Provide curriculum assistance to all the teachers.
Approve weekly lesson plans.
Be responsible for monthly calendars and Parent Connection Letters.
Responsible for Classroom observations and actions plans.
Assist the teachers with implementing appropriate teaching strategies for children based on DAP theories.
Meets on a weekly basis to review program philosophy and monthly goals. Weekly goals are signed by the lead teacher and director.
Enhances instructional effectiveness that promotes student learning (Weekly)
Conducts interim assessments, monitors student performance, and oversees the individual plans for students (Weekly). Â The curriculum specialist will review evidence of student learning, analyze and review evidence of student work including projects, presentations, and performances; assessment results; teacher observation records and checklists.
Meet staff members on a weekly basis to discuss curriculum implementation guidelines and projects.
Assure the correct implementation of the curriculum, framework, and guidelines.
Assure that teachers are following schedules, lesson plans and products. (Weekly)
Develops a mentoring program.
Participate in monthly curriculum planning meetings and sessions.
Identifies domains in which teachers need additional coaching.
Responsible for all school events including promotion and coordination.
Meet with Mentor once a month
Customer service
Communicate effectively with parents and teachers.
Provide programs throughout the year for children and children and parents.
Build relationships with the parents.
Updates social media following the guidelines of the marketing department.
Demonstrates cultural sensitivity in communications and works with families and children.
Demonstrates an awareness of community resources for additional support of children and families.
Professional development
Participates in community events and professional associations.
Coach employees to improve performance (Weekly)
Marketing
Able to sell the center on tours.
Provide tours of the center to prospective parents and children
Plan staff special events (staff baby shower, wedding shower, etc.)
Be responsible for communication with parents via ProCare connect and Facebook for calendar events, highlight awards for the teachers, staff birthdays.
Enrichment program Teacher
DELIVERABLES TO DIRECTOR/ AREA MANAGER:
Classroom observation forms (weekly)
Sets yearly goals and expectations for the teacher (Signed by the teacher and director)
Any other duties required by the Director.
Keep Binders with each classroom following information: Classroom Boards, Documentation of PBL, STEM projects, Innovation Advantage, Innovation Lab, Atelier projects and events.
Binder with all classrooms approved individual lesson plans for each school year and summer programs.
Binder each with Summer, Thanksgiving, Winter, Spring camp programs as per NAC specifications.
Evidence of classroom observations per age group monthly.
