JOB DESCRIPTION:
Be responsible for assisting a classroom lead teacher with the general supervision and management of a class of children; be knowledgeable in developmentally appropriate practices; to assist teachers in supervising all. children in their room ensuring activities and curriculum are adhered to as required by the Director. Flexibility is the required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Be at least eighteen years of age.
Hold at least a high school diploma.
Obtain all state mandated requirements.
Provide all medical, abuse clearance, criminal records check, fingerprint.
clearance, and any other forms that might be required by the state regulatory
agency
Maintain the state requirements for training.
Must be able to lift fifty pounds, sit on the floor and interact with children.
Evidence of emotional maturity and stability which demonstrates the ability
to show good judgment in handling crisis situations
Ability to take direction from the lead teacher.
Dependability and promptness
Flexibility
To take over for the lead teacher when needed.
Computer literate
Maintain CPR and First Aid
Maintain blood borne pathogens and fire extinguisher.
Maintain child abuse and neglect.
Maintain TB test or note of good health.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the supervision of children at all times maintaining a secure safe environment for children to play and learn.
Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of the lead teacher.
Assist in the planning and preparing of the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing needed materials for the day.
Follow instructions issued by the classroom teacher.
Always maintain a professional attitude.
Treat all children with dignity and respect.
Allow lead teacher only to discuss problems with the children with the Parents.
Adhere to proceedings and regulations accordance with the department of children and families,
Assist in the completion of daily reports,
Only give feedback to parents if instructed by the classroom teacher.
Keep classroom clean and tidy as instructed by the teacher,
Change diapers where necessary as instructed by the teacher,
Always comply with the presentation requirements set by the company.
Complete all state mandated training hours.
Attending ongoing training to keep education and regulations up to date.
Attend monthly staff meeting outside normal working hours.
Close down rooms as instructed by closing management.
Adhere to all policies and procedures of the center.
Any other duties required by the teacher or Director.
