CORPORATE CURRICULUM SPECIALIST AND ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Enrichment Curriculum Director is responsible for education, supporting, training and coaching Specialty Classes Teachers/ Instructors and providing professional, reliable assessments of YIA Specialty classes teaching staff to encourage growth and focuses on improving quality in all Young Innovators Academy schools. To assist the Specialty Class Teachers with implementation of the curriculum in all specialty classes. To create and develop specialty classes curriculum and lesson plans (atelier, coding and artificial intelligence) for different age groups.
REQUIREMENTS:
β Preferred knowledge and expertise in the areas of:
β Developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood education.
β Teacher training and curriculum development and implementation.
β Experience in preparation of lesson plans and teaching materials.
β Evaluation and assessment of both young children and adults.
β Experience designing and implementing training activities and materials.
β Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. The ability to speak, interpret and translate Spanish is a positive asset for this position.
β Must have the desire to advance professional skills continually, exhibit a strong work ethic, ability to prioritize, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
β Must have the capacity to manage stress appropriately and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
β Must be willing to travel within and out of Seminole County to perform required tasks and provide their own reliable transportation. Must have a valid Florida Driverβs License, a good driving record, and automobile insurance when an owned vehicle will be used for traveling.
β Experience in working with all age children in a childcare setting.
β Hold at least a CDA or higher in early childhood education.
β Have at least one year management experience.
β Communicate sensitively and effectively with staff and parents.
β Be able to work until 6:30 p.m.
β Have knowledge of DAP and YIA curriculum.
β Have knowledge of art techniques and theories, digital art, coding, robotics, and artificial intelligence
β Computer literate.
β Skilled in MAC/ PC programs, video, photography and editing programs.
β Skilled in Android/Apple apps
β Experience in working with all age children in a childcare setting.
β Certified in CPR and First Aid.
β Certified in fire extinguisher use.
β Certified in child abuse with refresher every two years (if employee does not have,
must complete within first week of employment)
β Certified in Standard Precautions in handling blood fluids and injury fluid discharges
with refresher every two year (if employee does not have, must complete within first
week of employment)
β Upon hire you must present a note of good health from a licensed physician, renewing it every two years.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
β Create enrichment curriculum, lesson plans and resources for Atelier, Coding and Artificial Intelligence classes.
β Upload and maintain YIA curriculum on platform.
β Deliver high-impact, teacher-centered coaching support.
β Assist the teachers with implementing appropriate teaching strategies for children based on DAP theories.
β Assist the teachers with implementing curriculum.
β Create a Specialty Classes schedule.
β Coach employees to improve performance
β Assist in the accreditation process.
β Multitask and be able to prioritize.
β Meet all DCF requirements.
β Maintain accreditation standards.
β Obtain 35 clock hours training each year including topics related to management.
β Assists the directors and Specialty Teacher in ordering and supplying materials and equipment for Atelier, Innovation Lab,
β Assist directors in ordering and supplying materials and equipment for the school and outdoor environment.
β Provide support and coaching to Assistant Directors in event planning and job performance.
β Conducts classroom and teacher observations (monthly). The observation data collected will provide the basis for learning-focused dialogue, feedback, and reflection.
β Assists in developing a mentoring program.
β Assists in school audits.
β Participate in monthly curriculum planning meetings and sessions if needed.
β Assists in developing teaching strategies by analyzing videotaped instructions, analysis of student learning, peer observations.
β Provide on-site consultation and targeted training; classroom-focused mentoring; modeling; videotaping and feedback; problem-solving; and print materials to reach goals and outcomes
β Provide training sessions
β Assist in creating reports based on data collection.
β Serve as the Young Innovators Academy representative to build and maintain a positive relationship and interaction with teachers.
β Participate in professional development to acquire and/or maintain certifications and training.
β Stay abreast of new early childhood trends, and SR/VPK programs requirement trends.
β Share with appropriate staff information/knowledge gathered at conferences and meetings.
β Ability to organize, coordinate projects, set priorities, meet deadlines and follow-up on own assignments with little or no supervision.
β Ability to work effectively with adult learners, especially in the areas of training and application of motivational strategies.
β Ability to effectively communicate sensitive information and exercise sound judgment.
β Ability to work and communicate with people from various multi-cultural backgrounds and socioeconomic levels.
β Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables.
β Proficiency in the operation and use of personal computers and computer software applications (Microsoft Office Suite). Ability to navigate the internet.
β Assist in our yearly professional training.
DELIVERABLES TO DIRECTOR/ AREA MANAGER:
β Classroom/school observation forms (monthly)
β Evidence of classroom/school observations.
β Identifies domains in which teachers need additional coaching.
β Serve as the Young Innovators Academy representative to build and maintain a positive relationship and interaction with teachers.
β Assist the Area Manager with the design and coordination of professional development activities annually and after that with ideas for innovative enhancements of new initiatives that will enhance Young Innovatorβs high-quality education services.
PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT:
β Responsible for reporting immediately to the management of any suspected fraud, misrepresentation, any irregularity and suspected irregularity involving employees as well as families served.
β Adhere to the policies and procedures of Young Innovators Academy while maintaining high levels of confidentiality and discretion.

β Complete all reports in a timely and comprehensive manner as required.
