Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedure (Safe Arrival & Departure)
Purpose
The purpose of this procedure is to ensure the safe, secure, and welcoming arrival and departure of all children while maintaining clear, professional communication with families and strict supervision standards.
Arrival (Drop-Off) Procedures

Warm and Professional Greeting

All children and parents must be greeted warmly and personally upon arrival.

Staff should acknowledge both the child and the parent to support a positive transition into the school day.

Safe Transfer of Care

Children must be physically handed over to a staff member.

At no time may a child enter a classroom, hallway, or common area unattended.

Authorized Drop-Off Verification

If a staff member has any question or concern regarding the identity or authorization of the person dropping off a child, they must immediately contact the front desk or Director.

Never assume authorization.
Departure (Pick-Up) Procedures

Authorized Pick-Up Only

Children may only be released to individuals listed on the childâs authorized pick-up list.

Identification must be verified when required.

Adult Supervision Required

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times during departure.

A child may never leave a classroom or the building unattended.

Any instance of unsupervised departure must be reported to the Director immediately.

End-of-Day Communication

A brief verbal update may be provided to parents at pick-up.

Only positive or neutral information may be shared during pick-up.

Any behavioral concerns, incidents, or negative information must be reported to the Director.

The Director will determine whether and how the information is communicated to the parent.
